The first Keswick Convention, held in a tent on a vicar’s lawn in 1875, was attended by almost 400 people. Things have changed considerably since then… The three weeks of Bible teachings and Christian seminars now attracts almost 15,000 people every July. Families are particularly welcome with special programmes aimed at children and young people from the ages of three to 18. Keswick Ministries, which organises the annual convention as well as training programmes throughout the year, is based at the Rawnsley Centre but owns other property in the town, including the old pencil factory which, from 2020, is the main venue for convention events.
