Under the ownership and ’hands on operation’ of Simon & Lindsay Jones you may be assured of a warm,friendly and highly efficient service. Locally based at Kirkby Stephen close to the Walk’s mid-way point, the Packhorse enjoys an excellent working relationship with all the accommodations along the route and fully understands and appreciates the needs of its walking and cycling customers. Our minibuses travel the route 7 days / week between April and the end of September moving both baggage and passengers over all stages of the route.

For those who want all the joys of walking or cycling but none of the accompanying organisational and
logistical hassle - a Packhorse Accommodation Package is the perfect answer! Our intimate knowledge
of all the B&B providers on route allows us to put together a great mix of accommodations and we’ll take care of
your car parking, transport to the start, daily baggage transfer between accommodations and your return
transport on completion. We can also set you up with all the maps & guides for your trip. Leave it all to us

If you prefer to fix up your own accommodation we will be happy to tie in with your arrangements
with whatever services you need … somewhere secure and convenient to park your car … a lift in a
PSV licensed (for up to 16 passengers) Minibus out to the start … reliable door to door transfer of your
luggage between accommodations … storage of any excess luggage (particularly if
you’re travelling from overseas) … backup passenger transport should you ever need it on route …
